“Wonderful excursion. Everything was organised. The pick up place was well communicated. Elaine our guide was excellent. She spoke perfect English, was very knowledgeable and efficient (she rescheduled our funicular visit after seeing the length of the very long queue). The places we visited were were interesting and enjoyable. Elaine had a fun personality which added to the whole experience and the driver was also very helpful. I would definitely use this company again.”

Bucharest: Museum of Communism Ticket with Communist Coffee

3.Bucharest: Museum of Communism Ticket with Communist Coffee

★★★★★★★★★★4.6 · 52 reviews · 1 day · from $10Best value

Explore Bucharest’s interactive Museum of Communism, handle original objects, and taste nechezol coffee on a communist-era couch.

“A nice small private museum in the old town, 45 min to 1 hour, good for a quick stop. Probably more fun with others than solo as there are photo ops, dressing up, music etc. Very interactive. Some of the text felt simplistic and described things that were very normal everywhere in the 1950s-1990s as being evils of communism. They could maybe do with a more expert or broadly expert historian on staff. Communist coffee was a very fun novelty and quite tasty, I can't tell the difference between it and Nescafe but I am not a conniseur at all! Toilet facilities clean, nice small bar area, no gift shop.”

“I thought the Montmartre tour was fantastic. The two-hour length was perfect, and we managed to cover a lot in that time. Since I was the only participant, it felt like a private tour. My guide was wonderful—she shared plenty of history along with interesting little anecdotes about the area and the places we visited. Would highly recommend!”
